About This Project
Moskito Island (owned by Richard Branson) is located in the BVI and is positioned opposite its sister island Necker. In 2017 Hurricane Irma caused widespread destruction to many of the islands in the BVI including Moskito. Following a period of rebuilding, in 2018 KBA was awarded the contract to supply and install a variety of bespoke furniture to the island’s villas. This included kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, outside bar areas and also joinery products. The tropical climate required the use of specialist materials to ensure the humidity did not adversely impact the ongoing use of the products. The brief for the designs was to be “classic” so as not to detract from the spectacular views which were to be the focus point of each villa. Specific areas of note include the Great Hall lift shaft 3D wall cladding where hidden doors were created and the internal pocket doors. The bespoke furniture was complimented by Silestone quartz which we shipped from the UK and was installed on site by our own installers.
